Aims & Objectives
Women empowerment is an important agenda in the development efforts for Shanti Foundation. There has been significant shift in approach of the district administration towards the development of women, especially the poor & the illiterate.
The Foundation Aims
Undertake and promote socio economic and legal justice for women of all section with a special emphasis on backward section of the women. To promote the overall development of girls and women in rural and urban areas in India, who are socially and economically deprived.
To provide family centered home based intensive services to girls and women in dysfunctional families in slums and backward areas in India, mainly focused at marriage and education of girls, to sensitize rural and urban girls and women on various environmental issues and concerns through education, training and communication.
To create public awareness on the rights of the women and to work for the promotion, protection and defense of girls and women's rights with main focus on education sponsorship; home based care and school placement for girls in dysfunctional families; referral services to children for problem children; family counseling; environmental education for children and children and women rights education.
To do any such thing that is incidentally necessary for the achievement or attainment of the objective(s) of the institute.

The Shanti foundation is located in Mumbai Maharashtra, India which is the second largest city in India and is also considered as the Economic capital of India. Mumbai is the famous and ancient home of Maharastrian culture in India. It has been a great city from its very beginning, more than it is one of the very ancient cities of India.
Mumbai is also famous its glamour's Indian Film industry and has sheltered generation of artisans and craftsmen, merchants and traders, poets and scholars, and statesmen, all round by the pursuit of worthy ends, true learning and personal and social peace.
Since its inception, our centre has been organizing various programmes for Girls and women of Mumbai and villages located around the city. Population of Mumbai is about 1.10 cr.
